Description

HYDAC Bladder Accumulators – Western Australia

Bladder accumulators (also known as bladder type hydraulic accumulators) are essential components in hydraulic systems requiring fast response, shock absorption, emergency pressure backup, and consistent pressure control.

As Perth’s trusted HYDAC accumulator distributors, Gerrard Hydraulics supplies and supports the full range of HYDAC bladder accumulators, including accumulator bladder replacement and complete service support for mining, industrial, agricultural, marine, and mobile hydraulic systems.

Whether you are sourcing a hydraulic accumulator for sale, downloading technical documentation, or confirming the correct accumulator in your hydraulic system, our team offers expert product selection and specification advice across Western Australia.

What a Bladder Accumulator Does

Because hydraulic fluid is not compressible, a gas-charged accumulator is needed to store and release pressure energy when required.

A HYDAC bladder accumulator contains:

  • A nitrogen-filled bladder (gas section)
  • Hydraulic fluid acting against the bladder (fluid section)
  • A sealed shell to maintain separation and performance

How it works:

  • When system pressure rises → fluid compresses the bladder → energy is stored
  • When system pressure drops → compressed gas expands → energy is released back into the system

Where Bladder Accumulators Are Used

HYDAC bladder accumulators are used in hydraulic systems requiring:

  • Energy storage and auxiliary power
  • Emergency actuation in pump/power failure
  • Pulsation and shock dampening (hydraulic hammer)
  • Flow supplementation for rapid actuator response
  • Leakage and volume compensation
  • Vehicle & boom suspension systems

Industries Using Bladder Type Accumulators

✔ Mining & Construction machinery
✔ Industrial manufacturing
✔ Oil & Gas, Marine & Offshore
✔ Agriculture & Automotive
✔ Energy & aerospace applications

These applications benefit from improved system reliability, safety, and reduced wear on pumps, hoses, and valves.

The Hydraulic piston on my log splitter developed a leak on Monday, so I took it off the splitter and took it to GH where workshop manager, looked at it and told me he'd fix it.
He called me on Thursday to say it was ready.
Ready in two days is amazing!
    I thoroughly recommend this company.

My header a Case 2388 broke down middle of harvest. Rang around a few places and Gerrard Hydraulics was the only company I could find that had parts on the shelf and fixed it with in 1 day. Thankyou Gerrard hydraulics workshop and team.
